FAQ.
During your first visit, you’ll likely fill out some paperwork and have a consultation with one of our Medical providers for a facial evaluation and to discuss your goals and any health concerns. They’ll recommend treatments or treatment plans based on your needs and preferences.
If you’re interested in adding additional treatments to your initial injectable session at Master Face Med Spa, simply let your medical provider know. Depending on the availability of the provider, it may be possible to add on the treatments during the same session. However, some treatments may require more time for a thorough consultation and procedure. If the time window and availability of the provider do not allow for the additional treatments, we will schedule a new appointment for you at a time that is convenient. The main difference between a neurotoxin and a filler is the way they work.
Neurotoxins, such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, are made from a purified form of botulinum toxin and work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles. They are typically used to treat dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repetitive muscle movements, such as frown lines, crow’s
feet, and forehead wrinkles. Neurotoxins are injected directly into the muscle, and the effects can last for several months.
Fillers, on the other hand, are substances that are injected into the skin to add volume and fill in wrinkles or lines. They are typically made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin. Fillers are used to treat static wrinkles, which are caused by a loss of volume or elasticity in the skin, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and hollow cheeks. The effects of fillers can last anywhere from several months to a year or more, depending on the type of filler used.
In summary, neurotoxins work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles, while fillers work by adding volume to the skin to fill in wrinkles or lines.
